UPSCALE

GoEden

While many startups have been operating towards the end of the value chain providing better linkage of buyers to farm produce, very few to none are operating at the first node of the value chain- the production side. GOEden aims to create efficient agricultural supply chain through the consolidation of all agrisupplies into an e-commerce platform providing complete access to various product types and brands, product information, prices, options and various agritech developed by the private sector, MSMEs and State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).

Through this closed-looped, interconnected digital ecosystem, farmers can have an improved access to agricultural inputs where science-based recommendations are also given to them and these able to influence and improve their decision-making process which hopefully leads to better farm productivity. Farm records of purchasing patterns of farmers can aid in better product recommendation and data will be helpful in creating data-driven manufacturing, stocking and distribution patterns to match the current and actual demands for products.

Understanding that the agricultural sector is lagging behind in digital access due to our aging farmers and the lack of internet connectivity in rural farming communities, GOEden takes an active role in complementing its digital marketing campaigns with offline and field-based tech caravans  by informing and educating our farmers especially those situated in the farthest rural farming communities,  on the use of e-commerce in purchasing agricultural supplies. (Please see tech caravan photos folder). GOEden believes that the digital transformation of the agricultural sector must be inclusive, leaving no farmer behind-in terms of providing access to information, and quality agricultural products and supplies.

The experience at UPSCALE helped us validate our business model and go over our strategies in a more detailed manner. The weekly exercises helped us refine our business strategies. New staff and junior team members are also able to benefit from weekly tasks and homework, as well as lectures from experts. Q and A sessions helped us raise start-up-specific concerns.
